Electronics & Field Technician

Key Job Responsibilities
- Installs, maintains, troubleshoots, and directs crews in the installation or repair of electronically controlled equipment including but not limited to Intelligent Electronic Devices (IED), regulators, Supervisory Control And Data Acquisition (SCADA), GPS, AVL and AMR. Responsible for purchases associated with these tasks. Assists with the development and maintenance of the SCADA system, the SCADA system database, AMI system, the AMI system database and displays for end users. Assists with technical training of employees, as necessary. Assists with the evaluation and installation of future or enhanced communication systems in the areas of SCADA, AMR, GPS, AVL, Text Power, voice, or data.
- Supports substation maintenance items as requested. Assists with maintaining communications systems: MARCs, 900 MHz, 3.65 GHz, 11 GHz, 6 GHz, tower sites and assisting with FAA compliance documentation. Maintains substation and office generators, and UPS equipment. Performs radio frequency interference analysis. Acts as duty foreman (as qualified) and/or Honda/KTH duty engineer (as qualified) when assigned.
Key Requirements
- Position requires a minimum of an associate degree in electronics or related field. Experience working with various software applications required as well as a well-developed technical background in the practical aspects of electrical components with electrical, mechanical, and analytical capabilities. Must exhibit excellent verbal and written communication skills and have strong abilities in organization. Must be able to attend conferences, seminars and meetings as deemed necessary or required to improve performance. Employee must possess and maintain a valid Ohio driver’s license and operate a vehicle on public roads for a significant portion of working hours.
