Pioneer Electric Cooperative is aware that some members and landowners have recently received letters from Grid Growth Ventures regarding a proposed transmission infrastructure project in Ohio.
Grid Growth Ventures is a joint venture between Transource Energy and FirstEnergy Transmission. According to the company, it was selected by PJM Interconnection, the regional organization that manages the electric grid across 13 states, including Ohio, to develop approximately 220 miles of new transmission infrastructure to support future energy needs and grid reliability.
Is Pioneer Electric Involved?
No. This is not a Pioneer Electric project.
Pioneer Electric is not involved in the development, routing, construction, easement acquisition, landowner outreach, or management of this transmission project. We have no input in determining potential routes, landowner participation, or project communications.

According to Grid Growth Ventures, letters were sent to property owners in areas being evaluated for potential transmission routes.
Should I Respond?
