Elizabeth Connor Joins Pioneer Electric Cooperative
We are pleased to welcome Elizabeth Connor to Pioneer. She has been hired to fill the position of Manager of Communications and Marketing.
Previously, Elizabeth was the Director of Marketing and Communications for the National Aviation Heritage Area located in Dayton. Her career path has taken her to several non-profit organizations focused on building tourism and support for the destinations, including the Miami Conservancy District, the Lake County History Center and the Lake County Visitors Bureau. Elizabeth has been recognized by various professional and trade associations for her communication and marketing strategies and campaigns. She has experience in web design and both digital and traditional communication media. She is also skilled in community engagement and event planning, and we anticipate she’ll bring some great new ideas to our annual meeting.
Elizabeth is a quick study and already has prepared herself for the electric industry with knowledge of renewable energy and the need to maintain reliability with fossil fuel-based generation. This is consistent with Pioneer’s “all of the above” energy supply philosophy.
Elizabeth earned a Bachelor of Science degree in history at Northern Michigan University and a Master of Arts Management from Carnegie Mellon University. She holds an Accreditation in Public Relations (APR) certification from the Public Relations Society of America. The credential signifies Elizabeth has distinguished herself with her drive, professionalism, and principles in the public relations field.
In addition to annual meeting and the board/county board election process, Elizabeth will be responsible for developing and managing all other communication and marketing functions upon Nanci McMaken’s retirement next year. With her background in and appreciation for history, she is also the perfect choice to become the new keeper of Pioneer’s story over the past 86 years and into the future.
Elizabeth and her husband make their home in Medway.
