Arbor Day Foundation Awards Recognition to Pioneer Electric Cooperative as 2023 Tree Line USA Utility

Pioneer Electric Cooperative was named a 2023 Tree Line USA by the Arbor Day Foundation to recognize its dedication to proper urban forest management in the provider’s service area. Tree Line USA, a partnership between the Arbor Day Foundation and the National Association of State Foresters, recognizes public and private utilities for pursuing best practices that protect and cultivate America’s urban tree canopy. Gariety Wins Scholarship from Ohio’s Electric Cooperatives

Eliza Gariety of Russia was awarded a $ 2,300 scholarship at the Ohio’s Electric Cooperatives’ Children of Members Scholarship competition, held on April 12, 2023. Gariety, the daughter of Pioneer Electric Cooperative members Greg and Connie Gariety, is a senior at Russia High School. Twenty-four high school seniors representing each of the Ohio-based electric distribution cooperatives competed for $49,000 in scholarships. A panel of independent judges reviewed the applications and interviewed the finalists before determining the scholarship winners.

Pioneer Receives Safety Achievement Certificate

Pioneer was recently awarded a certificate of safety achievement for their 2022 safety evaluation through the Rural Electric Safety Achievement Program (RESAP), a comprehensive system-wide inspection program completed by safety professionals and peer reviewers.  Pioneer once again improved scores overall compared to previous inspections. The RESAP evaluation reviews all areas of Pioneer’s safety program, including work site inspections, facility inspections, and one-on-one employee interviews.

Pioneer Electric Cooperative announces 2023 scholarship recipients

Eight area high school seniors have been selected to receive Pioneer Electric Cooperative’s 2023 scholarships. Twenty-three applicants from 14 schools throughout Pioneer’s service territory applied for the scholarships. The eight scholarship winners, all children of Pioneer members, were chosen through an application and virtual interview process conducted by judges from the local communities. Pioneer Announces 2021 Scholarship Recipients

Ten area high school seniors have been selected to receive Pioneer Electric Cooperative’s 2021 scholarships. The ten scholars, all children of Pioneer members, were chosen through an application and interview process. The judges for the competition were not affiliated with Pioneer. Forty-eight applicants who attend 19 high schools and three home schools throughout Pioneer’s service territory applied for the scholarships.
